Review of Peter Chinn's Korean BBQ Tacos

I had a motion to suppress a search warrant in a drug case in criminal court today in Gallatin , Tn.today.By agreement the case was dismissed and I headed back to Nashville. Riding down  I-65 , I was thinking about lunch which is always a highlight. Prince's or Neely's BBQ was the option until I remembered the article in the Tennessean about Peter Chinn . Mr. Chinn opened a Korean BBQ taco restaurant on Clarksville Highway. I have been reading about the Korean BBQ taco trucks that are all the rage in Los Angeles. Here I go.

I finally found  Peter Chinn's Korean BBQ. I pull in and it is take out only , however there are a couple of tables outside. I order a kimchi taco , a short rib taco , and a pork taco. Out comes the Styrofoam box and back to the office. My car is quickly filled with a wonderful aroma of Asian sensations. On Rosa Parks , I peek into the box and take a peek. Delight. I take a bite of the short rib taco. It melts in my mouth. I then think of the quickest way to get back.Oh the image isn't from Chinns but I wanted everyone to see what a Korean taco looks like.

Back at the office , the feast begins. The kimchi is first.Fermented cabbage and beef on a corn tortilla.Yum. Short rib next with a splash of the red fiery sauce on the side. The sauce overwhelmed the goodness of the taco. Warning be careful of the sauce. no sauce on the pork taco and I get the full flavors of what I smelled in the car.

The meal was Five stars. The only drawback was it was takeout and the location was not convenient. If it was in East Nashville or the Gulch it would be golden. It also had a vegetarian choice as well as a fish taco.

Check it out soon. Here's the web site www.peterchinns.com

Review of Tex's

As I was driving back from a preliminary hearing on a drug interdiction case in Rutherford County general Sessions court , I needed to grab a bite before going back to the office. So , I thought about an old favorite Tex"s Barbecue on Foster Avenue in Nashville. I had not been there in awhile but I was in for a surprise.Thursday' is rib day.

Three huge beef ribs. The ribs had a great smoke ring and were tender as can be. Followed by the  side buffet with a ton of choices of vegetables. My favorite is always the deviled eggs. Peach and blackberry cobbler were on the menu as well , but I am trying to watch the sweets. Check out Tex's for some western style BBQ.

Review of Suzy Wong's House of Yum

Lucky Bamboo on Urbanspoon

After leaving the Tennessee Supreme Court Building today , I tried  Suzy Wong's House of Yum for the first time. I ordered off the lunch menu which was reasonably priced with Suzy's Combo Box priced at  9 bucks. It included a spring roll , rice or lo mein , a choice of appetizers and an entree. First , I started with Asian Wonton Nachos Deluxe. it was an  Asian fusion nachos with edamame BBQ pork and several other treats. Tasty. The combo box was served in a cool plate which was broken up in segments for the portions. I had the spring roll , lo mein , pot stickers and peanut sauce chicken panang. Everything was great except the lo mein which tasted dry and maybe was leftover.

I enjoyed the meal . A lot of hipsters were there eating so the place had a great vibe. I know the restaurant has been on the scene for a awhile but it's a great lunch place as well.

New Topic For The Nashville Criminal Law Report

J I Baldwin & Son Barbecue on Urbanspoon

One of the hidden benefits of being a criminal defense attorney in Nashville , Tennessee is that I handle cases all over Tennessee. Today , I had a couple of cases in Springfield, Tn. With one case in the morning and one in the afternoon , I thought I would find a great local restaurant .

Mission accomplished. I had lunch a J.I. Baldwin and Son on Church Street in Springfield. I had a great plate lunch of chopped pork BBQ. The difference was the cornbread sliced in a thick loaf slice and a fiery vinegar sauce. You should also try the broasted chicken. Once I bit into it . I was in chicken heaven. i asked what was broasted chicken. Baldwin's secret was that they cook the chicken in a pressure cooker to eliminate some of the grease. If your in Springfield , Tennessee , try Baldwin's.

This is the first review on the blog . I might have been boring writing about the law. I would appreciate any feedback on this new feature and any other topics you might want covered.
